It started with
marmalade on toast.

Breakfast has always been my favourite meal of the day. Not a rushed one eaten standing up, but the proper kind: a pot of coffee, warm toast, a jar of marmalade, and nowhere you need to be just yet.

What makes it special is often the small things. A cup that feels just right in your hands. A plate so lovely you smile when you put it down. A linen tablecloth that gets softer every time it is washed.
